![]() Lee Glass have recently replaced their Unix wet seamer & arrisser with a dry version. Purchased from Ashton Industrial, the new machine means their wide range of glass can be processed within a cleaner, safer working environment and that when processing coated glass the risk of water damage to the coatings is eliminated. The heavy duty design of the machine is based on the world renowned UNIXTM wet seamer / arrissers and the main bearings, drives and tensioners are mounted outside the 500kg machine chassis away from abrasive glass powder. It is designed for total 24 / 7 reliability, even in the harshest operating environments and has a maximum throat enclosure for efficient dust containment. The clear front visor ensures full operator safety combined with complete visibility and the backrollers close to the point of grind to minimise belt twist. Very high volume, 1200 m3/h,air flow into the machine throat and out of the rear panel, ensures maximum dust retention. The machine also offers the option for processing long, narrow panes or awkward shapes.A powerful fast-acting pneumatic cylinder lifts castors to bridge the operator gap for extra glass support.Maximum extraction efficiency is guaranteed by the quiet yet powerful heavy duty dust collector fitted with a 5 micron multi pocket pre-filter, and an extended surface filter for particles down to 1 micron on the exhaust to factory atmosphere. Lee said " We could have spent a lot less and bought a cheaper imported version of the machine, but I was impressed with Ashton's heavy duty machines and their reliability and performance". The purchase of this new machine is just one of a number of investments in new machinery the company have recently made to help provide their customers with the quality products you would expect from them.
